For the fourth time in 12 years, General Motors has re-submitted a Cheyenne trademark application. The forthcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado Cheyenne is more likely than ever. The application, submitted on 16 April, includes “motor vehicles, in particular trucks.” As with past automotive uses, however, this does not suggest that GM intends to use the Cheyenne name in the near future on a manufacturing vehicle.
Cheyenne was the 2003 concept and was one of the most promising concepts at that time. Unfortunately, though, the production model did not happen. Now, peoples are more than ever in pickups and trucks. This is why it makes perfect sense for this trademark application. Cheyenne is reported to come as some kind of Silverado trim level or optional package. Anyway, here’s all you have to know.
2022 Silverado Cheyenne Exterior Design
How could a new 2022 Chevy Silverado Cheyenne look once it arrives? GM may be preparing a smaller truck, according to multiple rumors, to compete with the upcoming Ford Maverick. Maverick is another old Ford’s nameplate, therefore Cheyenne appears to be a natural opponent. Chevy also unveiled plans for an electric truck, however, the Silverado brand will remain in place.
Cheyenne may be a package option or a model for itself. The use of an American Indian name, on the other hand, could be a problem for every subsequent model. As you know, in the future Jeep’s Cherokee model must come under another name. Cheyenne could therefore be labeled differently, however, we don’t know whether the fresh new model or special edition is involved.
The Original Concept
Almost four decades ago, GM started using a Cheyenne pickup truck on Chevrolet. The automotive brand used the concept in 2003. Interest, the title was most recently used for the Chevy Silverado 1500 2013 SEMA performance truck prototype.
The design included decreased suspension, stronger brakes, and a 420-hp V8 engine to demonstrate the Silverado’s tuning capability. GM has applied the term Cheyenne to the trademark four times in the last 12 years.
The upcoming 2022 Chevy Silverado Cheyenne will be a very contemporary and upright model. Cheyenne’s cabin will be lavish enough to surpass its natural competitors. That means that the Cheyenne model will have more high-end features and more standard equipment. Of course, this pickup requires the latest technologies and driver assistance aids.
The new Chevy Silverado is likely to use one of the Silverado engines under the hood. Standard features are a powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine. This motor can generate 420 horsepower and a torque of 450 lb-ft. Diesel engines will also be available, albeit perhaps not in the first year of production. A hybrid powertrain could be on offer as well. We are now awaiting more specific details from GM, such as transmission and fuel economy figures.
2022 Chevy Silverado Cheyenne Release Date, Price
As we say, no one knows whether the 2022 Chevy Silverado Cheyenne will be a totally new pickup or some sort of Silverado version. Nevertheless, trustworthy rumors anticipate that this model will arrive sometime next year. GM needs to disclose more facts by the end of 2021, including price.
