The upcoming 2023 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition is coming to the markets with further changes and upgrades. The Ridgeline model will see some improvements, so this midsize truck will be more aggressively designed than previous models. Honda will also use the same unibody chassis as the Honda Pilot SUV to make the Ridgeline more competitive. However, it stands out with more impressive styling and a more premium interior. This model can be recognized by black alloy wheels, red accents, blacked-out grille, and unique black/red seats inside the cabin.
The blue ambient lighting has been replaced with red. In every other way, it’s the same luxury Ridgeline with power-adjustable seats, heated steering wheel, and other premium touches, both in terms of high-tech features and upright materials.
Exterior and Interior Changes
It is too early to discuss changes on the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition. This model is unique in so many ways so it is hard to predict what Honda prepared this time. However, we do know the base Ridgeline truck will get mild updates. The 2021MY received some dramatic makeover. Thanks to that, the new model should bring a couple of cool updates, but that’s about it.
We expect to see new exterior colors, more upscale materials, and more standard equipment. The thing is that the Black Edition has so many standard features and upright materials, so there’s no room for significant change. However, updated infotainment, new safety aids, and probably a surprise or two should be more than enough to satisfy the customers.
Transmission, Towing Capacity
One thing that won’t change is Honda’s ability to strike a balance between being a tough-as-nails utility pickup truck and a car-like transport that’s incredibly smooth and easy to maneuver. Under the hood, a potent V6 engine with 280 horsepower will remain. This engine comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission which improves the smooth ride that the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition has.
Thanks to a higher level of torque, this truck has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. There are still mid-size trucks with better towing capability, but Black Edition is not for those who are looking for a workhorse. It is a luxury trim level with a lot of premium stuff, but it still gets the job done if needed.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition Release Date, Price
The price of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition will start at over $46,000. The price is not available yet, but the base trim level should cost around $38,000. This truck will continue to rival mid-size models such as Nissan Frontier, Toyota Tacoma, and Ford Ranger. The sales will reportedly begin later this summer, so Honda will reveal more details in the next month or two.
