The forthcoming 2023 Mitsubishi Triton has been spied for the first time. The mid-size truck is available across the globe under a different names, including L200, Strada, and Ram 1200. Triton received a complete redesign eight years ago, and the last mid-cycle facelift happened four years ago. Now, the latest spy photos are showing a revamped Triton, which should be the next-gen model.
Similar treatment should continue inside the cabin, as the Triton truck could gain a lot of interior improvements. A new platform is a possibility, and if Mitsubishi delivers new chassis, we should expect new powertrain options as well. The sales will begin later in 2022 and here’s everything we know at the moment.
Mitsubishi Triton Spy Shots
The spy shots of the new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton are showing a revised model with a lot of camouflage. For a start, the shape is exactly the same as with the previous model and even the dimensions should remain the same. This means the Triton truck will ride on the same platform, but the test mule comes with a slightly longer wheelbase. It is a possibility for Triton to arrive with the new architecture, although this is not official yet.
It does make sense, as the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance is looking for simple solutions, especially when it comes to pickup trucks such as Nissan Navara. If you didn’t know, the current Navara is closely related to Renault Alaskan and even the Mercedes X-Class. Under the camouflage, we can spot a lot of novelties, although we’ll have to wait for this camo to come off. You can expect to see changes to the interior of the new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton when it comes out. The Japanese car company will start with a bigger touchscreen for the infotainment system. In addition, the new infotainment system will have a new user interface and a faster response time. Additionally, Mitsubishi is going to change the upholstery. Currently, we don’t know how the cabin will look. However, the seating arrangement will stay the same.
The new safety features may be optional, but Triton will almost certainly have a lot of other things as well. Customers should expect to be more comfortable cabin and have more standard equipment. Triton PHEV is Coming to the Markets
Another big upgrade could happen under the hood. Reportedly, the new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will feature a hybrid powertrain option. It is a plug-in hybrid system that should deliver more power and improved fuel efficiency. The full-size pickup truck segment already offers a couple of PHEV models, including Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX and Ford F-150 PowerBoost.
Moreover, the mid-size Ford Ranger will also arrive in Europe with the hybrid powertrain. As for the Triton, we don’t know the exact details. 2023 Mitsubishi Triton Release Date, Price
Undoubtedly, the new 2023 Mitsubishi Triton will cost more than its predecessor. We think the price will start at $40,000, or slightly above that.
