The brand-new 2023 Ram 1500 EV will be the first all-electric version of the brand’s renowned half-ton truck, debuting in the near future. In addition to its regular body-on-frame chassis and typical AWD configuration, Ram promises that the EV variant will have a driving range of up to 500 miles and the ability to tow more than 10,000 pounds.
Other preliminary promises include up to 150 kWh of quick charging and a high level of autonomous driving. While the electrified Ram 1500 will follow the Ford F-150 Lightning and, presumably, the Chevy Silverado EV, it may be able to benefit from any mistakes made by its competition.
Ram 1500 EV Will Look Cleaner and More Futuristic
It is currently hard to predict how the 2023 Ram 1500 EV will look. The Ram 1500 EV, like the F-150 Lightning, will undoubtedly include a slew of additional amenities. When discussing the maximum towing capability of the Ram 1500 EV, the manufacturer did not disclose specific data, and it did not discuss load capacity at all. The automaker, on the other hand, claims that its all-electric pickup truck will be able to tow more than its EV competitors. The official maximum towing capacity of the F-150 Lightning is 10,000 pounds, so expect the Ram to outperform that. More details will become available at some point next year.
2023 Ram 1500 EV Release Date, Price
The price of the 2023 Ram 1500 EV is far from available. We’ll learn more about the trim level prices later next year. Furthermore, it will be fascinating to see a completely new list of standard and optional amenities. According to reports, the Ford F-150 Lightning will cost around $42,000. Because of that, we’d expect the electric Ram 1500 to start at around $45,000. This model is expected to debut in the second half of 2023, possibly as the 2024MY, which is always a possibility.
