The upcoming 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel has been spied for the first time. It is an off-road variant that adds a lot of equipment. Currently, we saw the Rebel treatment on the Ram 1500 pickup truck. Now, even the heavy-duty Ram 2500 will have one. Interestingly, Ram 2500 model already offers the Power Wagon version.
However, Power Wagon does not offer a diesel engine, but the Rebel model will have that option. Spy photos are showing a lot of intriguing details, including interior upgrades. The sales will begin later in 2022 and here’s everything we know about this model.
Ram 2500 Rebel – What is It?
The new 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel is a full-size heavy-duty truck with off-road capability. This model adds a unique grille and tailgate, so this is more than a decal package. Ram designed this variant to go both on-road and off-road, so the ride quality is great. Moreover, Rebel provides more standard equipment, including 18-inch wheels, upgraded suspension, LED fog lamps, and locking rear differential. The ride height is higher, and you will also get skid plates and lots of off-road gear.
Spy Photos
As we said, the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel has been spied recently. The photos are showing numerous exterior upgrades, and some of them are significant. The new model will be dimensionally the same as the outgoing one, which means the platform remains intact. One of the most visible changes is the all-new side mirrors.
It seems the Ram added power side mirrors, as standard. Another upgrade is the new Olive Green exterior color. We expect to see additional new exterior paints. The Ram 2500 Rebel will add more cameras, LED headlights, and new 18-inch aluminum wheels painted in black.
Turbodiesel Engine Specs
The Power Wagon model is amazing, and it is definitely a better off-roading choice than the new 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel. However, Power Wagon does not offer a diesel powertrain option. On the other hand, the Rebel model will offer a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel. This unit is capable of developing 370 hp and up to 850 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to that, Rebel will provide impressive off-road ability, thanks to the higher level of torque. Ram will deliver a stability control system and improved shock absorbers. Reportedly, this model will be able to tow at least 20,000 pounds, although the idea is to use this truck in off-road adventures. Still, you can use it as a workhorse, as this is one versatile heavy-duty truck.
2023 Ram 2500 Rebel Launch Date and Price
The forthcoming 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel will reportedly hit the dealerships in the second half of 2022. The price is not available yet, but we expect a price that starts at around $51,000. Besides impressive performances and more aggressive styling, the Rebel version will have a vertically-oriented touchscreen. Ram will improve the cabin in a variety of ways, delivering Uconnect5 infotainment and a new 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. We can’t wait to see this model, as we expect to see even more upgrades.
