From what we know, the new Canyon pickup will introduce significant upgrades. In addition to the standard model, the manufacturer will reportedly release a brand-new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X model. A Canyon AT4X with the Edition 1 package was displayed by the GMC last week. This version adds stuff such as bolder exterior design, and numerous mechanical upgrades.
If you may not be aware, this trim level is geared toward off-road use and offers uncompromising details and real capability. This model also adds more rugged off-road tires and an improved suspension to better handle rough terrain. The next Canyon AT4X will be offered with the engine as the outgoing model.
Exterior Upgrades
The only part of this truck shown in the teaser is the front fascia. The upcoming 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X is an off-road variant with a rugged appearance. It comes with a bolder front bumper with a substantial bull bar protruding over the grille.
The headlights are divided into two pieces and appear to be brand-new. The LED daytime running lights (DRLs) are located below. Because it is blacked out, the grille provides this pickup truck with a commanding appearance. Additionally, improved suspension and tough all-terrain tires are available as standard. As before, GMC will deliver unique exterior paints and much more.
GMC Canyon AT4X Interior
Unfortunately, the teaser picture doesn’t reveal the modifications that the new truck will bring inside. While maintaining the same seating arrangement, we anticipate the forthcoming 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X to provide a more comfortable cabin. This indicates that up to five travelers should have enough room. Crew cab setup should be the only choice, so expect plenty of passenger space and a high level of comfort.
The AT4X trim level slots below the famous Denali model. Therefore, Canyon AT4X does not provide the highest possible level of luxury. Anyway, the AT4X specification transforms the Canyon into a capable off-road vehicle that also has a very fashionable interior. In addition to more comfy seats and a couple of distinctive interior amenities.
Engine Specs and Transmission
The next 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X will only have one engine option available under the hood. According to what we already know, the company will release a new turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder. This engine comes in three different outputs, which is a good thing to hear.
Unfortunately, GMC withheld any additional information regarding engine specifications. This engine is also offered with a Colorado pickup truck, so it only makes logical for the upcoming truck to follow that path. However, we anticipate the new Canyon to generate 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. That is more than enough to transform the Canyon model into an impressive off-road pickup truck.
2024 GMC Canyon AT4X Price and Release Date
The price of the new 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X truck will start at around $40,000. To compare, the base Canyon model costs around $27,000, while the range-topping Denali model will cost $45,000, if not even more. The sales will begin next summer.
