Given that Kia will soon launch its 2024 Kia Pickup Truck, many rumors are circling around this model. It appears to be in the planning stages, but it is envisioned as a Sportage SUV with a cargo bed. This isn’t always a bad thing; Sportage is a very upright and reliable model.
Whatsoever, it is currently one of the best-selling SUVs. The Mohave, which is bigger and would be appropriate for a mid-size pickup, would also serve as a viable substitute for the truck. However, Kia appears to be aiming for a small truck market, similar to the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

The upcoming 2024 Kia Pickup Truck is still just a rumor. Literally, there’s zero official info at the moment. Still, some reliable reports are suggesting a new pickup based on the Kia Sportage SUV. It sounds like a hoax, especially because pickups are looking boxier and not so modern.
Some other rumors are predicting a Kia pickup with styling cues borrowed from the Telluride model. You can find some interesting renderings on the internet, but this is far from reliable. In any case, we expect a very innovative and modern pickup in the years to come.
Interior Details
The cabin of the 2024 Kia Pickup Truck will also heavily borrow things from the Sportage model. Honestly, it is the only way to go, as most of the pickups in the segment are offering SUV-like cabins with lots of features. On top of that, Kia will provide a high level of comfort thanks to the greater use of upright materials.
Hopefully, this model will provide numerous interior color schemes and numerous trim levels. Kia’s current infotainment is good and its vehicles are full of driver-assistance aids. There should be room for five persons and the range-topping trim level will provide real luxury.
Engine Rumors
It is perhaps too early for the all-electric model, but Kia plans to deliver it by 2026. Therefore, the 2024 Kia Pickup Truck will likely arrive with traditional combustion engines and possibly with a hybrid powertrain. For a start, Kia Telluride offers a reliable 3.8-liter V6 gasoline engine, producing 290 horsepower.
Some rumors are predicting a smaller displacement, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 180 hp. Reportedly, there will be the SX Turbo variant with a turbocharged engine and it will provide around 240 horses. In any case, Kia will offer an eight-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid powertrain is a possibility, as we said, but currently, we don’t have any info in that regard.
