The new 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is getting important upgrades. For a start, we expect to see even more aggressive styling with some new exterior features. On top of that, Ram could deliver more interior equipment and a higher level of comfort. However, the biggest upgrade will reportedly happen under the hood.
The iconic Power Wagon will gain more power. We are talking about the current V8 gas engine, of course. Unfortunately, a diesel powertrain is not available yet, which is a disappointment. Still, there’s always hope for diesel to happen, as it is a perfect match for this heavy-duty off-road truck.
Exterior and Interior Design
The 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will obtain visual improvements. However, don’t expect to see a major redesign or anything similar. Instead, Ram will provide a mid-cycle facelift, by delivering new exterior elements and possibly new exterior colors. Furthermore, this truck will gain more ground clearance. Bigger optional wheels are another possibility, which also includes larger tires as well.
The front fascia won’t change that much, although the Power Wagon will have a slightly bigger grille with wider openings for better engine cooling. That recognizable aggressive styling will remain, but additional ground clearance and bigger wheels should be enough for this impressive off-road pickup truck.
Things with the interior are very simple. The 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon is an off-road truck, focused on performance. Therefore, the interior updates will be very minor. When you don’t know what to do, just add some new features, and Ram will do exactly that. Can’t blame them. Luckily for Power Wagon, Ram knows how to deliver a very upright cabin design, supported by a nice level of comfort and lots of high-tech amenities. A 12-inch touchscreen will be on offer, including additional USB-C ports. The infotainment update is on the way as well, and we also expect to see new driver-assistance aids. Most of the new features will be optional, so the base variant won’t change that much.
Ram 2500 Power Wagon Specs
Under the hood, a 6.4-liter V8 gasoline engine will be in use once again. It is a reliable output, capable of generating 410 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. According to reputable reports, this gas engine will get slightly more power. Thanks to that, the 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will perform even better. On the other hand, we don’t know how much power Ram plans to add. A 4WD system will be standard, next to the 8-speed automatic transmission.
Sadly, no words about the diesel powertrain. A 6.7-liter Cummins engine is a perfect candidate for this off-road truck. With 400 hp and over 900 lb-ft of torque, this engine would do wonders for Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Lastly, hybrid or all-electric variants will not take over the heavy-duty truck segment anytime soon. Because of that, diesel is the best thing that should happen. This is the same diesel engine that powers the 2023 RAM 3500.
2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Release Date and Price
The price of the all-new 2024 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will start at $54,000, or slightly above that. Again, things are far from official, so we are waiting to hear more details regarding the truck’s improvements and possible price changes. In any case, the sales won’t begin before the end of the next summer.
