The mid-size pickup truck category is exploding right now, with a plethora of dependable and modern models. New Ram Dakota (or Dodge) is one of the most anticipated mid-size trucks right now. However, sources from a few weeks ago suggested that this model will not arrive anytime soon. However, new and very reliable reports indicate that the 2022 Dakota will be available for purchase after all. In the United States, Ford is reintroducing the Ranger pickup truck, while Nissan is revamping the Frontier pickup truck.
Jeep currently sells the Gladiator pickup truck, which is a newer generation. Dakota is claimed to be based on the Gladiator pickup truck’s chassis. Ram Dakota Pickup Interior
The interior of the Ram Dakota will be modern and spacious. As a result, the cabin design of the new Dakota will be similar to that of the Ram 1500. Both variants are quite modern, the comfort is great, and there are various standard conveniences available. We expect numerous big enhancements, particularly to the infotainment system. Dakota will also get the latest safety aids.
What we don’t know is whether or not the 12-inch touchscreen will be standard. Despite being smaller than the Ram 1500, the Dakota is said to have a better interior with a higher level of comfort. Ram plans to introduce a standard digital instrument cluster. On the other hand, features such as sunroof and Wi-Fi should be optional in lower trim levels.
Exterior Design
The next Ram Dakota will be similar to the Ram 1500 pickup truck. The manufacturer’s choice is unsurprising. Dakota, on the other hand, will be smaller and have some distinguishing features. Nonetheless, the design language is literally the same, and the two trucks will have similar sharper lines and features. The front fascia will have a larger trapezoidal grille and new LED headlights.
Although the sheet metal on the sides is the same, the lower front bumpers will differ somewhat. The Ram Dakota will feature redesigned doors, unique exterior paints, and new wheels. The rear section has a short-bed option as well as LED taillights.
Specs
New 2022 (Dodge) Ram Dakota, as previously said, is a smaller truck than the Ram 1500. As a result, Dakota will not offer larger engines, such as 5.8-liter or 6.4-liter outputs. A 3.6-liter V6 gasoline engine will be standard, and this is a no-brainer for us. As an option, a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine is available, which is another unsurprising outcome. A diesel engine is capable of producing 260 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
The mild-hybrid powertrain choice, on the other hand, should be on offer and it will be a great addition, for sure. Ram will combine a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine with 48-volt eTorque technology. This hybrid system is expected to produce slightly more than 300 horsepower, according to reports. We are waiting to hear more details regarding the truck’s specs. From what we know, Dakota will be able to tow around 12,000 pounds.
Ram Dakota Release Date, Price
The upcoming Ram Dakota will cost around $30,000. As previously said, some reports indicate that this mid-size pickup truck will never reach production. Now, it seems like the Dakota model will be available in showrooms soon. We don’t know when the Dakota truck will go on sale, but this model is happening. The most likely launch date for Dakota is the first half of 2022.
